Tormach Slant Pro Spindle Shield

Tormach Slant Pro Spindle Shield

I designed this shroud to protect the spindle bearing on my Tormach Slant Pro lathe. I never liked the coolant stream crossing the spindle head/nose gap so I manually edited programs to turn on and off when near the gap as to try and keep coolant out if the bearings. I designed and printed this shroud to block coolant from hitting the spindle nose and head. The shroud just slips over the end of the headstock and is just held in place by friction. It only allows the 5C nose to protrude, and if coolant crosses the opening between the shroud and nose, it will just be slung inside the cone and drain out of the drain hole I added to the bottom.
