This is a holder for a Tortoise switch machine. i created it for my N scale model railroad as i had about 3 inches of foam above my plywood and there was no really good way to connect the switch machine. The top layer that supports is the same thickness as midwest products cork roadbed so a smooth transition can occur. The larger flanges give something support. Can be used for other scales but you will have to adjust the thickness of the top to be the same thickness as your scale roadbed. My intention is to add track and scenery, then setting it down just tacking lightly with glue so as it can be removed for replacement easily in the future. The included support brackets are intended to be glued securely so this sets inside them.
