Not much more delightful for children than a beefy sword fight with their friends. This Toy Sword Cross Guard (also known as quillon) transforms a dull wooden slat into a magnificent sword (it just needs a little woodworking). Cut your slat to a 24 x 24 mm square cross section at the rear end to wedge the cross guard on it and any desired shape of sword / sabre / scimitar / claymore at the front side (I used a jig saw for it). Additionally a little paint and leather, and off goes the brave knight.
