Hi all, This is a remixed part from the speed tank. The intention is to build a track drive for a toy fire engine. Other than with the speed tank the toy track will get slow engine speed which is more appropriate in indoor toys for kids. In addition, it will get a chassis somewhat like a fire engine and it will be equipped with a water tank and pump. Some update on this little project. I am currently trying to fit a standard RC servo as the driving motor. This has some advantages over using a stand-alone brushless motor, number one we don't need a motor controller since that is already coming with the servo, number two the drive speed will be rather slow and therefore more suitable for a toy. I uploaded and new main drive wheel with a smaller gear, only 40 teeth. On my remixed part there is no way to tension the chain, in other speed tanks variations I have seen some ways to tension the chain, however, I wanted to keep things simple and therefore I have made a new chain link which is just 2mm longer than the original one. This doesn't make a whole lot of difference while going over the chain wheels and just putting two or three of the longer chain links into the track, I am able to fine-tune the tension to the desired point. To easily distinguish between the two different chain links I have "stamped" the longer one with an "L". So please be aware, that the one uploaded here is the longer one.
