This is an enclose for an IKEA Tradfri switch. IKEA launched a series of IoT products, the switch can be hacked and connected to eg a Wemos Mini programmed to issue MQTT commands. Search youtube for IKEA Tradfri IOT Smart Lighting System Hack by Andreas Spiess (video 140) for more details. Removing the switch from its original enclosure can be destructive, so a new enclosure is needed. I modified a small bowl (shaving), and added a slot and groove to allow a usb lead to be inserted into the base. The fit on my printer is a snug interference fit, and no glue was needed to hold the switch in place, and there's a series of small internal indentations (from original shaving lid use) where the original switch clips can just fit in.
