This is a fairing block for Garmin transom mount transducers. It enables you to lower your transducer out of the aerated boundary layer of water, which enables your transducer to read at speed a lot better. It is suited to pressed hull boats (like quintrex, trailcraft etc) and nestles snugly into the gap between two strakes. You will need to fabricate a bracket to connect this to your transom, I used some 50x30x2mm aluminium box section from Bunnings, and cut away the bits i didn't need. I also used a few stainless bolts and nylock nuts, as well as some aluminium bracing. This is not a complete set of instructions, there's just enough here to get you started and hopefully you can improve this some more.
