Test print object to test transparency of a particular plastic being printed. Does this by forming a 0.2mm thick window. The window is surrounded by a hoop and some towers(decorative). Print setup: Printrbot Simple Metal Printrbot heated bed 0.06" PEI sheet double sided taped to heated bed aluminum patches in probe points to allow induction probe probe the bed fan shroud (uneven airflow, unfortunately) air provided via CPAP machine set at 4.0 mbar of mercury sliced using Simplyfy3D: 25% infill 0.1mm layer height brim/skirt of 6 loops, 2 layers, attached to edge of print 0.5mm nozzle with 0.6mm extrusion width 195C hot end temp 60mm/sec max speed setting 90C heated bed temp ( 60-70C measured surface temp ) Radio shack opaque "red"(read: orange) PLA filament. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .1 Infill: 25% Notes: Printed using some red PLA from Radio Shack. The PLA was not explicitly transparent and in fact, is opaque in filament form and is opaque in the thicker tower and wall sections. Printed at 195C for extruder and 90C for the heated bed(surface reads 60-70C). The print bed material is a sheet of PEI that has been stuck to the aluminum heated bed of the printrbot simple metal with the 3m double sided tape. Use of aluminum tape rectangles to allow for bed probing by the induction probe. Fan shroud to provide cooling(though from my print, it looks like the cooling was very uneven, biasing the right side. Air cooling provided with a CPAP unit at 4 bars of mercury pressure. How I Designed This OpenScad Simple Shapes in OpenScad.
