Trapper Canoe Rodholder: Simplicity

Hello. Hereby i present to you my trapper canoe rod holder. My first attemp to design for a challenge around here and i am pretty satisfied with the result. In my opinion one of the main points about this was that it should be ecofriendly. But if you think about it, durability and eco friendliness isn’t only about saving nature at moment of production. Durability means you make it last as long and as recycable as you can. So there where strength was needed i put some standard corrosionfree materials in like stainless steel. So, main materials used are wood, cork and stainless steel. The cork peaces are glued to the wooden block which i believe is the most appropriate way to do. Next the design. As far as design concerned i watched most of the models already. I wanted my design to be simple. A lot of people around here designed stuff with screwing or bolting it onto the rail. I didn’t want that. Also, in many design people made it possible to adjust the angle in which the rod is in. As far as i could read it wasnt an demand by trapper canoes so i didnt take that in opinion to my design. I wanted it to be simple. Just put it to work, No screwing or adjusting. So the wooden block is made simply out of one piece. The placks of cork are glued onto it to prevent the wooden block from damaging the canoe, to create grip and to clamp itself to the canoe. the rodholder itself is 5mm stainless steel wire bended into shape. Its simply welded on a piece of 3mm sheet metal which in its place is screwed onto the piece of wood again. Please check my design. Tell me what you like or dont.
