An eco friendly solution to attaching your fishing rod to suit Trapper canoes. The simple product has been designed with eco credentials in mind. - The holder itself is made from marine grade wood, possibly varnished spruce for it's strength and the appearance ties in with the wooden detailing of Trapper canoes. - Major metal parts like the tightening mechanism will be cast and machined aluminium for it's light weight and corrosion resistance, while screw threads and bolts will be stainless steel. - I have used cork inserts on the main brackets to protect the canoe. - For the main bracket I have used the under appreciated hemp fibres with an eco friendly resin. Hemp fiberglass has all the strength and benefits of common plastics and or fibre based composites but is cheaper and is a 'green' material. This will reduce the overall weight of the holder, allowing for a more stable canoe. - I have designed this holder with minimal parts and simple assembly. it only requires a single bolt to attach the holder rotating mechanism and 2 small screws to secure the treaded wheel which closes the bracket around the hull. Styling: - I have tried to follow the Trapper's sweeping curves and seamless joints so that once attached the holder blends effortlessly with the canoe itself. - By using hemp for the bracket, it can be left as a polished finish or painted to suit all the colours in the Trapper range, offering the customer more colour options. Function - The bracket has been shaped around the Trapper canoe hull profile. The user simply slots the bracket over the rim of the hull, inserts the provided allen key into the treaded wheel and turn until the other half of the bracket has fully closed around the rim of the hull. The bracket is now secure, but to ensure it will not come undone the user simply slots the allen key into the hole in the toothed mechanism which will hold the mechanism in place until the allen key is removed. - To adjust the rotation from side to side there is a circular platform on top of the bracket with a disk, with the rod holder attached, which is simply bolted on to the bracket via a single nylock bolt. The user then rotates the top section by lifting up the spring pin and then relocating it into any of the 10 designated slots on the bracket. -To adjust the angle of the rod, the user simply loosens the fastening bolt below the rod holder itself, adjusts the angle to suit then tightens the fastener again, where it is kept secure by corresponding teeth on both the bracket and fastener. This is an all round secure, durable, light and eco-friendly fishing rod holder for the Trapper canoe range.
