Trash-in-a-Box

Trash-in-a-Box

prusaprinters

A conceptual idea for a trash cleanup system using a WALL-E like robot that carries a container made from mycelium; a tissue from mushrooms, and a machine that recycles objects into new raw materials by rearranging them at the molecular level. The robot would go around collecting litter in the container and the machine would recycle anything put into it based on a human operator's input on the touchscreen at a recycling plant. The machine would analyse the object inside using a spectrometer to identify its composition then propose the best raw materials that substance could be rearranged into. This would be done using a laser in order to dissociate the molecules and then encourage them to re-arrange in a different orientation. (i.e. turn a plastic toy into oil) Originally designed for a FIRST Lego League (FLL) competition for the theme of Trash Trek as my team's innovative solution.

This model was created using Microsoft 3D Builder.
