Traxxas Slash Rx Box

Traxxas Slash Rx Box

I've been converting a long running project to a 2WD Slash for the last few months. Couldn't find the Rx box from any local sources, so I decided to design and print my own. It bolts down on the stock mount holes, and holds any Rx I can think of. It includes a holder for the antenna tube. It is absolutely not water proof. I couldn't be bothered to work that out, and frankly don't need it to be. It could be easily sealed with shoe goop around the antenna tube, and the wire slot. The cover needs to be printed with supports. Standard M3x16 ~ M3x20 cap screws will bolt the cover down. It's designed based off the Slash LCG chassis, but it should fit anything that uses the same part. In theory. UPDATE: New version of the top uploaded that adds 0.5mm of clearance around the perimeter to make it fit easier. UPDATE 2: New versions of top and bottom. I made a mistake in the alignment of the outer bosses that connect the lid to the base. Everything should print and fit perfectly now. UPDATE 3: After printing and installing my last revision, I decided I wasn't thrilled with a couple of the parts of the design. There is now a V2 in the files section. It's a little smaller, with a different fit on the lid (lid flush with the base). It's the version I'm going to use, and I don't see making any additional changes to it at this point. UPDATE 4: Small change to the V2 top. It's done as far as I am concerned at this point. The final change adds a small amount of protection against moisture getting into the box around the antenna tube. It's minor, but after bashing a dozen packs through my Slash with this Rx box in place, it's the only part that bothers me. So, again, this is not water tight. It is however fairly effectively water resistant. With some shoe goop, you could easily make it water tight, but I don't see the point. For running through mud, snow, light rain, I have had zero water get into it. I'm taking the work in progress flag off this project. I will update it again if I make any additional changes.
