This is an extended receiver box designed for the Traxxas Summit/E-revo. Tested and fit perfectly with a 42mm bl motor and 14 tooth pinion. May not fit with 775 titan motor, i cannot test it. If it doesn't, then the mounting holes have to be moved few millimeters inner.

INFO:

As for the cover, there are 2 versions: one with a Traxxas logo implemented and one without it. The one with the logo is 0.25mm thicker, this is why i recommend 0.25mm as layer hight. And also, all the flat panels are 1mm thick so 0.25mm would be 4 layers, so it should be strong enough.

The cover is designed to be watertight, thus it should be a tight fit. Depending on your printer, you might need to file off some of the sides of the box to make it fit nicely.

You'll need 6 pc of M3x6mm button head screw for this box. 2 screws need to mount the box to the chassis stock mounting points, and 4 screws to secure the top cover. The mounting points of the top cover is about 6mm deep, so keep this in mind.

Printing info:

Layer: 0.25mm

infill: 100%

since it does not have curvy objects(except the trx logo) you can print it faster than usual, to save some printing time. 60-70mm/s should be fine. Print it flat side down, and wait with the removal until the objects are completely cooled down, otherwise the thin plates can be deformed during the removal.

UPDATE: Just uploaded the v2 version. Changes: relocated the mounting holes to the chassis. added 0.1mm tolerance to the cover, and also added 0.25mm additional wall thickness to the sidewalls, bottom, and cover. And made a "cutoff" next to the motor mount for some additional clearance for the wires. And the most important: added 1 cm hight for the sidewalls, to be able to fit more gadgets inside. My BEC and receiver did not fit the v1, but it does fit the v2.

Notes:The v2 version is backward compatible, but a v1 cover will not fit a v2 box.

Be careful with the cover, because the L shaped lip have a tendency to brake down if the wires are too tight. Might reinforce it in the future, or create a whole new design for his part.

Feel free to comment, and suggest if you have any ideas.
Category: R/C Vehicles
