Triaxial Quartz Movement Upgrade

This upgrade to my remix of A26’s original design, which was based on the Astronomia Triaxial watch mechanism. My remix can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3415296, and A26's original design can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3061474 This mod replaces the mechanically driven clock hands of the original with a quartz movement drive. This video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LdkkPj9Khw , shows the carrier being driven by the weight, and about 25 seconds into it I remove the weight, and the hands continue to be driven by the quartz movement. It was ruzickjc’s idea to build a version that used a quartz movement. His prototype can be see at https://youtu.be/wt_mqIPkCwM. I took his idea and made a few changes. • Adding a case for the quartz movement to hide it. • Brought the gear that drives the minute hand around to the front of the movement to simulate the minute hand being driven by the rotation of the carrier. • Made a larger counter weight to offset the additional weight of the quartz movement and its battery. Now if you hang the clock on the wall, it will actually keep the correct time. To demo the tourbillon, just hook the weight on. Enjoy, McMaven
