Tripod adapter 1/4-20 to 3/8" thread

This can be used to mount a 3/8" camera onto the more common 1/4-20 UNC tripod thread. Alternatively, you can use it as a way to get a high quality 1/4-20 thread into a model printed at lower resolution, or printed with the thread on its side. I've made three versions, one with a circular flange with a coin slot, one with a 16mm hex flange, and an embedded one with a screwdriver slot. The embedded one sits right inside the 3/8 thread. Each one is available with two tolerances for the 3/8 thread, Class 1A, (slightly looser) and class 2A (slightly tighter). I suggest you start with the 2A and print again if it is too tight. If you find neither is good, your slicer can help; The function called "horizontal size compensation" (Simplify3D) is the right way to fix it. Also called, "Horizontal Size Expansion" (Cura), or "XY Compensation" (Slic3r). This setting allows you to accommodate for the extrusion width of the plastic along the perimeter layers. Print these without supports, with the thread vertical. I would recommend printing them solid. Printing one at a time will also help to reduce any problems with stringing or blobs clogging the threads. Use a layer height of 0.15mm or less. If you are using a heavy camera, spend the money on a metal version, don't rely on one of these.
