Having spring fever, I can't wait to get back in the field and shoot targets. I was looking on shopping sites for a gun rest ... those can go over $100 easy. Then saw tripod gun rests, and got'a thinkin'. I wanted something that felt like you're holding a softball, and it does, it's cozy. The commercial items have sharp corners that could bite you during recoil, or be uncomfortable for a length of time, so, I designed this with rounded fat edges. If you want a tighter grip on the gun, turn it sideways to your non-dominate eye and there you go, you're using the ellipse essentially. Threads. I made the hex shape on the bottom a little smaller than a common nut. You will need a way to heat the nut, and press it in place, making sure it is level while the plastic is still molten. I let mine sit an hour after that to fully cool, and was able to tighten it down on the tripod snug and is just what I wanted when I started shopping for them :) If you get any sort of hand cramps, this should help, I do and it will.
