Tripod Phone Clamp (v1)

Tripod Phone Clamp (v1)

thingiverse

This little thing fits onto a standard tripod and clamps your phone so you can take videos and pictures without shaky hand syndrome! Should work with most phones - I would love to see some results, so if you do print this out put up a picture with your phone clamped for me please! :) Instructions Designed using Autodesk Inventor 2013 (educational edition). There are three parts that are 3D printed: The Base, Slide, slide and Knob. I tiny amount of support may be required for the slide --- but actually bridging doesn't do too badly. The other parts can be printed without support at 0.2mm layer height and with about 10-15% infill ... printed with ABS. The original Inventor *.ipt files are included so you can modify the part to your heart's content. The screw and nuts are standard imperial. They are designed to fit the standard tripod fitting. Slide two nuts into the slots and one screw for the clamp. The pad and pad-slide are rubber sheeting 0.2mm thick and cut to size with scissors. They were glued using super glue - just take care not to get glue on the side with that will be in contact with the phone. Its a bit tricky to get this aligned properly so have the work piece stably clamped to something to make it easier. Finally the fork part of the slide is there so you can put your phone facing in that direction and still access the button for taking a picture - I've only tried this with an IPHONE ... but should be sufficient spacing for other phones - please let me know how it works out.
