Tripod QR Cam Clamp

This is a camera mount quick release system for small inexpensive tripods that lack this functionality. Also compatible with quick release plates for the MeFoto Backpacker and Roadtrip tripods. NOTE: see entire pictures by viewing full screen. This little gizmacchi utilizes an eccentric cam (actually a logarithmic spiral) to clamp the mounting plate securely. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 4 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.20 mm layers Infill: 33 - 50% Notes: There is a lot of force transmitted through the cam and the bolt (Panhead 3mm), so hi infill on these parts is probably good. My first version used 25% infill and the 3mm lock nut turned in the nut trap. The panhead allows for precise preloading of the cam tension, and I recommend that it be as tight as necessary, as loose as possible. Friction will hold it all together in use. Post-Printing You want an 1/8 - inch drill bit The cam turns on a 3mm bolt. Bore out the holes in the cam and in the body of the QR with an 1/8 - inch drill bit. Preferably, slowly, and by hand.
