Tripod Spacers for 4 way macro focusing rail

thingiverse

Summary These things are a set of tri-pod spacers for use with a 4 way macro focusing rail system in a still life studio. The camera mounts to the macro focusing rail using QR plates. The plate and adapter are Gittos MH-657 Quick Release Assembly (Arca-Type) and a MH-647 Plate. The distance from the focusing rail needed to be increased to change batteries without dismounting the camera. Various plates were designed with different lengths between the tripod screw and Acra mount screw to increase vertical offset to improve focusing distance inside the still life cube. The spaces all have the same thickness with different vertical offsets from the macro focusing mount hole. The spaces may be stacked to achieve additional thickness. The spacers were printed in PETG but PLA is also an excellent choice. The tripod screw fits in to a relief well and needs to be tapped. It has 2.5mm of ¼ 20 threads to retain tripod screws. This needs to be drilled out to use a through bolt. ¼ 20 brass inserts are used for the Acra mount adapter screw. The images show the proper orientation for slicing and printing. Position the spacers with large tripod screw relief hole up. Print with default support and use a small bladed screw driver to remove support from the screw holes.
