After losing an extensive print more than halfway through due to a faulty filament, I chose to integrate a runout sensor into my printer. I'm confident that I could have discovered one already created by another individual, but I decided to design and build my own anyway. The primary objectives for this project were: - Introduce minimal friction to the filament feed - Add minimal weight to the print head - Function reliably To meet these requirements, I opted to repurpose an optical endstop and mount it on the body of the printer. Although it was a bit challenging to get it working correctly, it has proven to be remarkably reliable during testing. Designed in Fusion 360, the source code is available here: https://a360.co/2FL5Dzk
