This is a license plate light cover for a Ford Pickup. The cover broke off from the bulb socket and was lost. I couldn't find a replacement of the same type locally so I made one. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 2.6 mm Infill: 30% Notes: Used PLA. Note: The incandescent bulb get's hot and may melt PLA. Use a higher temp filament or LED lamps. Post-Printing NOTICE: The incandescent lamp gets hot and may melt PLA. I installed LED lamps. This is just the cover to replace a broken and lost cover. The infill was removed and test fitted on the broken socket. The part was spray painted silver to closer match the excising light. I hot glued a piece of clear plastic over the inside of the opening. The clear plastic came from the package of a 1156 light bulb that I found in the garage. I cut a rounded piece that was the right shape. If your not using an LED, a regular lamp may also melt this plastic. The cover was then hot glued to the end of the broken socket, then installed in the bumper. How I Designed This I took measurements of the existing cover and the broken socket. I created the part out of rectangles. I used "tweak" and "fillet" to get the general shape. I copied this, scaled one copy smaller, then subtracted the smaller copy to get the void in the inside. I modeled the broken lamp holder and subtracted this from the inside to make a surface to glue the cover to the broken socket. It's not an exact match, but close. I made this just for an old truck, and it looks good in the dark!
