Truncated Tetrahedron Nightmare
thingiverse
An unusual and very difficult ball pyramid puzzle by the late Markus Gotz. Markus' original name is "Nightmare on 'Truncated Ball Pyramid' Street", which is a take on the movie "Nightmare on Elm Street". All pieces have extra-long connectors, these are called "contra-planar" pieces by Leonard Gordon, because they join spheres (which do not touch) in different square packing planes. Assembly is very confusing and difficult. This design uses 20 mm diameter spheres. I'm sure Markus would not want me to upload his solution sheet with the puzzle. But please email me if you want a copy of his solution sheet, or the BurrTools file.
