TRX-4 CANTILEVER SUSPENSION SET

This is a set of parts to make a cantilever system for a Traxxas TRX-4 You will need additional components to build the system, these are as follows... 2 x Spacers (to space the pivot point away from mounting plate) 6mm in diameter, 3mm hole diameter and 2mm thick. 4 x bearings 8mm in diameter, 3mm hole diameter and 4mm thick. 2 x bolts (for pivot) 30mm long, 3mm in diameter 4 x bolts (for shock and link) 15mm long, 3mm in diameter 2 x bolts (for rear of shock) 25mm long, 3mm in diameter. NOTE: bolt lengths are for thread only and don't include the bolt head in the quoted lengths I have redesigned the cantilever arms so nuts are not required. Be sure to print 2 x arms of both types. Also print 2 x 10mm spacers and 2 x rear shock mounts. Note: I have reversed the cross member as I'm not using the battery tray in my build. This meant I did not need nuts for the front holes of the chassis mounting plates. However this is not necessary if you fit nuts and bolts. You might need to countersink the rear hole on the chassis mounting plates as clearance is tight. Lastly, you will need to make your own links from the axle up to the cantilever. The length of these links will determine the ride height, so experiment with these. Just for reference mine are approximately 30mm eye to eye. Limiting straps maybe required if lower spring cup is pushed back excessively when axle is hanging. I found that the spring pressure held it in place, but it does move. Any questions, feel free to message me. *EDIT* 04/2019 I've added a smaller cantilever arm to reduce leverage on the shock, this will allow for better tuning of the suspension due to requiring less preload on the spring. I have also made a new spacer with a bigger diameter inner hole to allow for a metal tube to be inserted. The tube is for the inner ring of the bearings to sit on so when you tighten the pivot bolt the bearings won't bind. The tube dimensions are 5mm diameter x 11.24mm length. Longer lower links will be required, i made mine 37mm eye to eye. If you want a bit more travel, reverse the rear shock mount also.
