TRX4 Servo on Axle Mount

TRX4 Servo on Axle Mount

If you are trying to adapt a TRX4 front axle for a comp rig or just want to put rearsteer on a TRX 4, I hope you'll find this part helpful. To be honest I haven't tested it yet so I can't really tell you how well it will hold up, but it's inspired by the existing TRX4 SOA mounts here on thingiverse but centers the servo in the middle of the axle and has more beef. It should be adequate but probably not quite as strong as stock especially given that it replaces the lower link mounts. Another feature this has is an upper link mount that helps you center the upper links on the axle. You'll need a very long M3 screw for it to work properly, you can cut the second shear off though and save 4mm on that screw length if needed. I'll provide an update if I use it at some point! Maybe make a skid that includes mounts for a second upper link next and convert my truck to SOA? Edit: I've revised the STL since I originally posted to make a few tweaks that make it fit a little bit better. It has a cutout for the upper links which were running into the crossmember. It's also got some countersinking in the holes for the lower 4 bolts that go into the link mounts. Ran into an issue where teh bolt heads were running into the lower links on my TRX4 so they needed to sink in some more. Really these don't need tons of meat anyways since we are tying into the upper link mount too. I've fitted this to my TRX4 at this point and it seems pretty good. I did have to grind away some of the chassis to allow the servo to move around freely, but I believe that's standard issue on any SOA 4 link conversion of the TRX4 anyways, so nothing new here. UPDATE: I've got a handful of hours on the part now in the field and it holds up well. I didn't take any huge tumbles with it, but I did plenty of "neutral drops" so to say and the usual techniques to launch the model over an obstacle I didn't have the grip to crawl over. Also got it bound up a little in a few places and was then able to power through. All with no part breakage. I'm confident this is a good performance adder for rigs using the TRX4 axle now. Please give the part a try and report any issues.
