Tuba Mouthpiece

Tuba Mouthpiece

This was modeled in Inventor using a UMI 2 mouthpiece as a reference. I've always liked the UMI 2 because of its deep, narrow cup and aesthetically pleasing concave exterior shape. If using ABS, a good rub of acetone around the shank is definitely recommended so it stays in the tuba, as well as around the rim to prevent skin irritation. Perfect for cold marching band days, or printing a ton of them to keep as spares. I would definitely print this at 90- 100% infill because it doesn't use significantly more material, but adds a LOT of strength. Printing at 10-25% will cause the shank to split, but 90-100% will make it durable enough to survive everyday use.
