Bench can made from recycled tuna can. By using an edge cut type can opener on the can, you get a nice fitting lid. Sized for a standard 5 oz. tuna can, 3-3/8" diameter x 1-3/4" tall. If you have pull tab cans and want a lid, I'd suggest plastic pet food can saver lids. Featured on Ox Tools's Monday Night Meatlaof #137 ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynsMmKdERpc&t=38s Handy size for small cleaning tasks: micrometer restoration, bearings races and retainers, doo-dads and what-nots.... By using the edge cut lid as a cover, weighing the lid settles the basket into the can. With the cover on, its virtually oderless. I like using kerosene or mineral spirits with a little bit of light oil in it to increase the vapor pressure so it does not evaporate as fast. Fill as needed to cover parts. Removing the lid allows the basket to spring up. Inserting a scriber, drill bit, or similarly sized rod through the holes allows the basket to drain over the can. The basket is printed without horizontal skins. Varying the infill density will change the sieve hole sizes. Print with 3-4 perimeters to make the outside shell solid without infill. See screenshots. Springs are optional, but nice to have sometimes. Print springs with 3 or more perimeters and solid infill. I use PLA as it seems to have a bit more umph than PETG. Use a piece of filament as a rivet to clinch the basket springs together- see assembly illustrations in photos.
