You can print your own Turbofan model. This model was inspired by some commercial jet engines. It’s an extraordinary model with a big fan (Rotor diameter: 177 mm). The Turbofan can be used as a ventilator with low speed. With high speed usage it also has a high thrust level. The parts are easy to print. You can print the parts with a scale of 1 or with a scale of 0.95 (otherwise the motor won’t fit). Printing Settings: The model was printed with an Anet A8 with a scale of 1. (I had to change the machine settings in the firmware, with the scale of 0,95 it will work to print the parts without changing the settings) Used Material:
NuNus PLA white 1.75 mm* (Printing Temperature 200°C)
NuNus PLA red 1.75 mm* (Printing Temperature 200°C) Bed Temperature: 50°C Printing speed: 50-80 mm/s Nozzle Size: 0.4 mm Turbine_outside_middle Layer height: 0.3 mm Shell thickness: min. 0.8 mm Fill Density: 20 % Supporttype: Touching buildplate Platform adhesion type: Brim Turbine_outside_front Layer height: 0.3 mm Shell thickness: 0.8 mm (min. 0.4 mm) Fill Density: 20 % (min. 0%) Supporttype: Touching buildplate Platform adhesion type: Brim Turbine_outside_rear Layer height: 0.3 mm Shell thickness: 0.8 mm (min. 0.4 mm) Fill Density: 20 % (min. 0%) Supporttype: Touching buildplate Platform adhesion type: Brim Turbine_inside_rear Layer height: 0.3 mm Shell thickness: 0.8 mm (min. 0.4 mm) Fill Density: 20% (min. 0%) Supporttype: Touching buildplate Platform adhesion type: None Turbine_stand Layer height: 0.3 mm Shell thickness: min. 0.8 mm Fill Density: 20 % Supporttype: None Platform adhesion type: None Turbine_rotor_admission Layer height: max. 0.2 mm Shell thickness: 0.8 mm Fill Density: 20% (min. 10%) Supporttype: None Platform adhesion type: None Turbine_rotor_cone Layer height: max. 0.2 mm Shell thickness: 0.8 (min. 0.4 mm) Fill Density: 10% (min.0%) Supporttype: Touching buildplate Platform adhesion type: None Turbine_rotor_shovel (need 21x, better print 25x at once) Layer height: max. 0.2 mm Shell thickness: 0.8 mm Fill Density: 100% (min. 20%) Supporttype: None Platform adhesion type: Brim Printing Temperature: 210°C Connection_admission_cone Layer height: max. 0.2 mm Shell thickness: 0.8 mm Fill Density: 0% Supporttype: None Platform adhesion type: None Connection_inside_rear Layer height: max. 0.2 mm Shell thickness: 0.8 mm Fill Density: 0% Supporttype: None Platform adhesion type: None
Used additional components (some of them you probably already have at home): Amazon: Brushlessmotor 1000kv and 30A ESC* (CAUTION: The Rotor can be dangerous at high speed!) AliExpress: Brushlessmotor 1000kv and 30A ESC* (CAUTION: The Rotor can be dangerous at high speed!) Amazon: Cables* for the longer connection of motor and ESC AliExpress: Cables* for the longer connection of motor and ESC Amazon: Banana bullet connector plugs 3,5 mm* for motor, ESC and cables connection: AliExpress: Banana bullet connector plugs 3,5 mm* for motor, ESC and cables connection: Amazon: Battery*, you need connectors and a charging system (you also can use some other power supply) AliExpress: Battery*, you need connectors and a charging system (you also can use some other power supply) Amazon: Control Unit* (I used a remote control, you also can use a Arduino or Raspberry Pi instead) AliExpress: Control Unit* (I used a remote control, you also can use a Arduino or Raspberry Pi instead) Amazon: 4x M3 screws and 4x M3 screw nuts* (to secure the motor to the model) AliExpress: 4x M3 screws and 4x M3 screw nuts* (to secure the motor to the model)
Amazon: 2x M3 screws* for the Turbine_Stand
AliExpress: 2x M3 screws* for the Turbine_Stand *affiliate Also see it running: https://youtu.be/Xhf-L2MWXGo https://youtu.be/o31-uAM70mc _______________________________________________________ Update 09.02.2018 Improved Turbine_inside_rear.stl for easy printing You can use the same printing settings _______________________________________________________ Update 23.03.2018 Improved Turbine_stand.stl for over 30% faster and 50% lighter printing You can use the same printing settings
