Quick design I mocked up for protecting the LiPo on my BeeRotor X200. Would likely work well for other 'X Frame' quads where the battery hangs underneath. The BeeRotor X200 has two LiPo straps instead of 1, but unfortunately most LiPo's are too short and the straps only just catch the end of the battery. I have added two slightly indented sections that allow the straps to grip well. Given the battery hangs under the quad it is also the thing that hits the ground first. So I designed this model to protect the LiPo in a crash and it also helps give the quad something to stand on when taking off. This is a work in progress. 13/05/2014 - Update: I have removed a large amount of material and made it so that the back part is no longer enclosed/supported. This reduces print time and material weight/cost. It also means that the back strap tightens down over the battery making it hold onto it tighter. Where the material along the 'sides' has been removed this also means it now clears the flight controller mounting points. Print Settings Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.15 Infill: 20-100% Notes: Print it so that the side with the two holes cut out is flat on the print bed.
