This is an adapter to allow you to use those cheap "universal" phono / record player cartridges on a turntable with 1/2" screw mounts. Save a ton of money and expand your options. My new cartridge pressed right in, though if your dimensions are slightly different a drop of white glue will hold it securely. And yes, it works perfectly!
