Turntable Cover Hinge

The hinge on my turntable that supports the cover has been broken for many years. I recently came across the broken parts and realized than I now have the means to make new ones. This turned into quite a project as getting the correct dimensions was very difficult. As you can see this part is fairly complex and it must fit perfectly in order to work. One issue was getting the spring retainer correct as well as the fit of the metal bracket. The original part used a long rivet as the pivot pin so I substituted a 4mm screw and nut instead. Finally, after literally decades my turntable is back to 100% function. The Sony PSX600 turntable is still a great turntable. I think I purchased it in the mid to late 70's. It is a computerized turntable that you can fully control with the cover closed, It uses a bio-tracer tone arm which uses servo motors to move the arm and supply the tracking force. You can adjust the tracking while playing a record. I still love this turntable after all of these years.
