Turtle License Plate Frame

Turtle License Plate Frame

thingiverse

This license plate frame was done in one print but two colors. The bottom 2.1mm is solid white PLA and the top 0.9mm, with the turtle design, is UV reactive neon green PLA from <a href="https://www.atomicfilament.com">Atomic Filament</a>. Putting the white under the translucent neon green doubles its brightness as well as providing a nice contrast to show the turtle design. If you'd like to see more designs for these license plate frames or have a design in mind you'd like me to use, send me a message and a link or file to use. I'll do them when I can. I'll probably do a Yin-Yang design next. Follow me if you want notifications when new designs come out. If your printer only has a single extruder, you'll have to pause the printer and do a filament change. Use a 0.3 mm layer height to generate the Gcode, then edit the Gcode with a text editor. Look for the text "layer 8". Before this line, insert "M600" on a new line. This will pause the printer so you can change the filament before printing the turtle pattern. Your printer will need an LCD controller to advance the filament and resume your print. If you've never done this kind of thing before, you may want to practice on something small like my matching <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3050446">turtle keyring tag</a>.
