This two-piece template was supposed to guide you in cutting and folding a piece of cartstock to make a model with concentric rings that spin when you fold it, like the one shown in the video:http://youtu.be/2QXgaSLgxq4 Alas! The paper model didn't work very well when I tried it, but I decided to share it anyway. Maybe someone else can get it to work. Instructions The STP files are included so you can try to improve the model to make it work better. Print Twirligig_lower_plate.stl and Twirligig_upper_plate.stl Use the Twirligig_upper_plate model as a guide to cut a piece of heavy paper or light cardstock into a rectangle. Sandwich the paper between Twirlig_lower_plate Twirligig_upper_plate. Insert a sharp knife into the slots and use them as a guide to cut the rings in the paper. Emboss the fold-lines into the paper by pressing down on the upper plate, or squeeze the paper tightly between the two plates. Remove the paper from the frame and use the embossed lines as a guide to fold the sheet. It might not work the first time, but if you work carefully from the outermost ring to the inner one you should be able to get them to twirl as the paper is folded just like the plastic card in the video.
