This is my entrant for the competition, I work designing machine tools, but I enjoy more creative stuff. I havnt had much chance to get the design fully refined. essentially it works by turning the handle 90 degrees, this moves the fixture towards the center and pushes down on the brick. there is little rework to be done, as it nearly works by drilling a hole in the side, pushing the first part in, pop the second piece on the end and tighten the screw. when the fixture is out as far as it can go, the brick will come out. There are a number of improvements that could be made, but I wouldn't want to give that away at this stage. Just a shame i am short on time! From what I can tell there aren't any quite like this on here, and I would like to keep it that way! All parts can be injection moulded, with the sel being a simple rubber, the other pieces I would think a strong plastic would be fine, possibly a HDPE.
