Hello, I'm Twisty,

I heard that this whole Corona Virus thing has you down and you just want something quick and happy to do with your 3d printer to take a break from all that PPE.

Here I am! Ready to serve!

Print me out using PrusaSlicer's color change command even if you don't have an MMU or Pallete and I'll dazzle you with the cool designs I create by simply slicing me on the X-Y plane! - Just be sure to print me Face Up (as oriented) for best results.

Even though I have what appear to be very steep overhangs, there's no need to use supports, my shape lends itself to pulling the overhangs into the print!

Like I said, I'm here to make your life happier not more complicated!

All you'll need is a 8mm dia magnet that is 5mm (or more) long for a perfect press-fit or any other magnet you have lying around if you have some super glue handy.

Print me out, slap on that magnet and then just sit back and smile as I spin away happily on your printer, reminding you of simpler times when your 3D printer was just a source of pure fun and excitement.

Don't you worry my friends, those happier times will be back again before we know it, until then, don't forget to give yourselves a few hours to make something fun and lighthearted!

P.S. I love all the filaments but I especially love glitter, glowy, and colorful ones!

The best results can be found by splitting me .5mm from my top, two more times at .75mm intervals (as shown in the picture). My face and the outer pedals of my flower are on the same plane' creating a cool effect if you use high-contrast colors for the highest and second-highest colors.

I print great with a standard, .4mm nozzle, but be sure to make my top layer infill CONCENTRIC!

Play with the layer heights! - For really smooth curves and edges, go with .1mm layers, for some cool effects from the tiny concave changes in the flower petals, go up to .2 or even .3mm - maybe even try the prusaslicer auto layer height thing!

Just have fun, and when you're done, I'll be up there. reassuring you that your extruder motor is chugging along, just as excited as you are to complete your next masterpiece, invention, life-saving device or toy.

:)

Print instructions

Stuff you need:

8mm(dia) x 5mm magnet (for best fit on a BMG) or really any magnet you have that is 8mm wide and at least 3mm longer than your extruder (or other stepper motor) shaft is from the outer case, or anything smaller with some super glue, or edit the included f3d file to your magnet size.

Superglue - (optional, and 8mm magnet should be a nice press-fit)

Printing:

Orientation:

as oriented - NOT face-down

Nozzle:

0.4mm

Filament:

PLA - cool colors. Insert color change pauses close to the top at various layers to add fun patterns. ;)

Layers and Perimeters:

0.1mm layer height (best), though, taller layer heights will produce surface artifacts that may be cool looking, you decide.

First layer height .3mm (give it a nice thick first layer for adhesion of the tiny base to the build surface)

2-3 Perimeter Shells

10 Top Shells

8 Bottom Shells

thin walls OFF

Infill:

15% Gyroid

Top Infill Pattern - CONCENTRIC (this is important, rectilinear will look crappy)

Skirt and Brim:

No Skirt

5mm Brim (tiny base, give it a little help)

*Support Material:

Completely unnecessary

*Speed:

Nothing fancy, maybe bump the overall speed down to 80-90% on the front panel because of the thin layers.

*Extrusion Width:

.47 overall, .53 first layer for extra bonding.
25% overlap

I've included an editable copy of the file in F3d for editing the magnet hole size or playing with the design, I only ask that you link any remixes back to this site so that I can appreciate them as well.

Cheers!

:)
