Edit 9/3/2022: Added longer bases made in Tinkercad, so no sources for them. Sorry about that.

One of the things I always hate about 3D printed miniature figures in games is that they are so easy to tip over, and sometimes they are moved by a strong wind (even, sometimes, a sneeze). I solve this with the miniatures I print by slicing off whatever base is provided and attaching the figure to this base instead. The Two Cent Base has a cavity in the bottom sized to hold one or two US pennies tightly (though you may use glue as needed for retention). The metal pennies stabilize the figure without raising it too high, and when all man-like figures have the same 22mm diameter base I can count on them fitting well on my Chessex battlemats.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 5

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.20

Infill:

25%

Filament: Inland PLA Plus Marble

Notes:

I strongly recommend slicing this with Cura or another slicer that offers tree supports, as they are much easier to pry out of the penny cavity.

Category: Games
