Two-Layer Pixel 3 Case - with scad files

Well, phone cases are expensive, especially the good ones. If you have a Pixel 3 and have wondered how you will keep it scratch-free, here's one possibility. I've always liked the ones with the mushy layer inside and the hard shell exterior, so that's how I made this one. Please note that you should make the outer case from PETG, and not from PLA. I tried PLA and it's pretty stiff. The under layer is designed to be made with NinjaFlex. If you saw this on 2 November 2018, please note that I've since uploaded new .stl files. These include the hole for the third microphone (on the top edge of the phone, directly over the camera lens). I've also widened the screen-window-space to make it easier to reach links on the screen that are located close to the edges of the phone case. On 5 November, 2018, I updated again. I've added a NinjaFlex case that doesn't have a hole for the buttons. Instead, I raised the strips of material over the buttons. NinjaFlex is difficult to work bridges on, so the one with the raised strips looks a little bit slicker (I think). I've left the other one on there, as this is a matter of aesthetic, rather than correctness. Up to you On 20 December, I added a hard case that has a design of Athena's helmet on it. It also hugs the NinjaFlex portion just a bit tighter. . . . aaaand on 1 April 2019, I added the OpenSCAD files. Have fun - I hope the scad files are useful. Please tag me on remakes - I'd really be curious how people have improved them. It might help me improve later work. Thank you! I've also tested the print with the screen-protector you can get from the Google Store - called "Invisible Shield", so I know there's about a half millimeter of clearance on either side. There shouldn't be any problems there. I have designed this for myself, but I am considering making a version with the little grippy-holes made for lefties and versions for people with smaller hands, too. If you are interested in this, lemme know. When putting the cases on the phone: 1) Go ahead and turn the phone off. 2) Remove all the stringing from the prints (the fit is made to be snug and any lumps or strings will interfere with the fit). 3) Push the phone into the NinjaFlex. 4) Tip the button-side of the NinjaFlex-and-phone into the PETG shell. 5) Work the other side around the NinjaFlex-and-phone. Et voila. Phone in its case. When removing it: 1) Turn off the phone. 2) Place the long side of the phone on the table, with the screen facing away and the BUTTON SIDE DOWN. This keeps them from getting pushed as you remove the case. 3) Place your eight fingers across the long edge that is now up, tip the phone forward so that your first knuckles touch the table surface, and with your thumbs, gently press the back of the PETG. When one of the corners pops out, just work it the rest of the way out of the case. Done. Phone out of case.
