Two Piece Glass Retainer

Two Piece Glass Retainer

This is a two piece retainer for keeping glass in place. The two pieces just friction fit together just like the original. The orginial part had curved edges that were not print friendly, so I made it in a more squared edge fashion. The clip that the screw goes through can be made from PETG, PLA or ABS. ABS is very hard to print this with piece since the small size makes it easy to warp. I used PETG. I made the hole a bit smaller than the original for a tight fit, but it is easy to drill to a larger size if needed. The orginal screw hole had a smaller diameter on top and larger diameter on the bottom. I did the same with this version. Then there is the pad that goes between the clip and glass, this needs to be made of a soft material. I used TPU which is very similar in softness to the original. Just press the pad into its mating slot on the clip. This is one of those projects you do just to see if you can. Since it is much cheaper just to buy replacements. Created using Tinkercad...
