Two Story Garage (24 x 20)

I created this model of a two story garage/studio, because I'm having a local vocational school build it this summer for only $500 (I, of course, have to pay for materials). It's fully detailed down to every piece of lumber. I started with a single solid body that represented the overall shape/size. I then used the faces of that solid as references to create the sketches that drive each of the walls. So, if you'd like to make modifications to the design, start by making changes to the main solid body. I designed this all as a single part file. To make the drawing documentation more organized, I broke the structural members bodies into sub-weldments. Then I saved the sub-weldments out as individual part files that remain linked to the master model. I was then easily able to create a drawing sheet for each externally saved sub-weldment. Also, make sure to check out my "Lumber Weldment Profile Library" on GrabCAD to easily create models like this in SolidWorks out of standard 2x4's, 2x12's, etc.
