An Etruscan frieze which originally rested above a temple, depicting the Greek hero Tydeus, father of Diomedes, devouring the brains of his enemy Melanippus during the events of the famous tale of the Seven Against Thebes, as Athena stands to the left, holding the elixir of immortality. Captured in the National Etruscan Museum at the Villa Giulia in Rome.
