Type 16014 bearing

Type 16014 bearing

This is my version of the 16014 bearing used in the Ciclop scanner. It's not as tough as the commercial 16014 which has a radial load rating of at least 2 tons, but may serve the purpose for those of you scanning less weighty objects. It comprises three printed parts and eight 9.5mm steel ball bearings. The ball bearings are inexpensive and widely available. (in the UK) To assemble it you will need a flat surface to work on, a small screwdriver or similar object to manipulate the ball bearings and common sense about health and safety. You can either guess how to assemble it or read the instructions. That's entirely up to you. NOTE: Rotate the cage through 180° before printing (i.e. flat side down) Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Mendel Prusa i3 Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20% Notes: I used Cura for the gcode. Layer height was 0.2mm, shell thickness 1.2mm, material: PLA. Total print time around 3h 45m.
