UK Metal Electrical Back Box Protector for Plastering

UK Metal Electrical Back Box Protector for Plastering

thingiverse

This thing only applies to metal back boxes in use in the UK When plastering a wall there is the need to remove existing sockets and switches. This item replaces them by screwing directly to the back box, protecting the wires and allowing the plasterer to sweep big arcs and achieve a better finish. After the walls have been plastered, the plaster can be trimmed to the shape of the back box and the cover can be removed. There are 3 files: one for 1 gang boxes one for 2 gang boxes one for 2 gang boxes and added ribs for improved rigidity Needs to be fixed using shorter screws than usual (otherwise you will hit the back of the metal box); I've just cut down normal electrical screws Don't use anything else than electrical boxes screws as you would damage the threads
