Ultimaker 2 Brick-Upgrade

Ultimaker 2 Brick-Upgrade

thingiverse

The thing you all waited for is finally here! :D Some Baseplates to upgrade your Ultimaker 2 (the original should also work, since its a similar case) with some cool bricks or minifigures that can observe your printing progress. The plates go onto the top frame and should be secured with bricks/plates/whatever on the outside of the side-covers to prevent them falling into the printer and cause problems. If you build around a corner and secure it on both edges it's quiet stable (but because of my selfmade door I can't do that while using the door). To prevent the printhead crashing into your bricks don't build above the inner edge of the top cover. But by adding some support-structures on the outside you shoud be able to go quiet far on the outside (if you want to build a city or something around your printer :D). If you are printing high-temperature materials, you should maybe remove the bricks from your printer because the heat radiated from the buildplate can be quiet high. My Ultimaker got a bit jealous, because [my i3-Mega got such a cool upgrade](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3726757), so I had to make him (or her? :D), also one.
