I was not satisfied with the available battery adapters for use in my tiny electric go-kart build. I needed something stiff that I would never have to worry about. Designed for G-MAX 40V series of GreenWorks batteries. But will fit other 40V series GreenWorks batteries as well. Features polarity markings, high-current conductor, 20x20mm mounting hole pattern, and strain relief.
Required:
* 2x 4.5cm piece of generic 1/4" copper water line tubing. (Wall thickness is 0.5mm.) * 2x 15mm M3 socket cap bolt with M3 nut Print vertically in PETG for least amount of support material and smoothest fit.
Build it:
* Straighten and cut approximately 4.5cm of 1/4 inch copper water line tubing. * Carefully flatten the last 13mm (1/2 inch) of one end of said piece. Avoid imprinting sharp burrs. Use a bench vice with smooth jaws. * Verify blade thickness is 1.0 to 1.25mm and blade height is about 9.5mm to 10mm. * Chamfer cut edge if desired. * Solder wire (or female banana jack) into open end. Avoid getting solder on the outer wall of the copper tube. File off if necessary. * Insert new blade terminal into printed adapter from the inside; wire-first. * Repeat for other terminal. * Push both terminals in firmly while maintaining vertical alignment. Approximately 13mm of the blade contact should protrude from the inner backstop. (see picture) * Finish it off with the strain relief shoe and two 15mm M3 bolts w/ nuts.
