After printing several bathroom drain filters and being dissatisfied with the emptying rate, I created my own inspired by hsiehty, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4157768. Higher flow rate is primarily due to the "legs" under the cover that hold it up from the drain slightly (the legs also make it easier to lift out for cleaning), no reduction in drain diameter, and breathing holes. Holes & gaps are wide enough (at current scale) that water does not get stuck in them by surface tension. Also dries faster due to smaller contact area to drain pipe, and center arrow to direct drips. Note that this design is not meant for a shower drain or other weight-bearing applications. STL file is for a 35mm drain hole and 55mm cover, but easily customizable to other diameters and drain depths using the included SCAD file or via slicer scaling.
