This is an ultra compact enclosure case for RAMPS 1.4+ with the Arduino Mega 2560 commonly used in 3D printing, CNC, laser, drawing machines and other Cartesian movement systems. It can also accommodate CNC Shield V3+, Arduino Boards, and or Raspberry Pi boards with most hats. Features active cooling using a 80x80x10mm Cooling Fan. I'm a fan of designs focused around simplicity, adaptability, flexibility of options, and enabling people to apply some of their personal character to a design if desired. I wanted something super compact and highly flexible to attach to the LowRider2 CNC's Y-Plate, so I remixed my previous Ultra Compact Raspberry Pi enclosure into this. COMPATIBILITY Works with the following RAMPS Models: Arduino 2560 + RAMPS 1.4 Arduino 2560 + RAMPS 1.5 Arduino 2560 + RAMPS 1.6 GRBL CNC Shield V3 GRBL CNC Shield V3 GRBL CNC Shield V3 Raspberry Pi 3+ and 4+ Heaps of room for a GRBL CNC Shield V3, V4, V5+, Raspberry Pi 3+ and 4+ or similar boards, and most Arduino boards as well. I thickened the bottom a bit more than the original design, so you can more easily drill mounting holes for whatever board you desire to put in the case OR simply zip tie the board in there! Internal usable area of 122mm x 80mm x 47mm (L,W,H); not counting the gap from the four corner supports for the top plate (13mm). The absolute total height to top plate surface at the middle is 60mm. FEATURES: - Super simple one piece design - Flexible mounting options (place your board, use undersized drill to start your hardware into the base, or use zip ties, and just mount your board) - Plenty of access for wires and wire routing - Can drill through the bottom of the case if you're keen to mount the case to something with screws/zip ties. - Screw mounted 80x80x10/20mm cooling fan; or you can put a rubber band around the case like we do for quick disassembly. INSTRUCTIONS: Print case body Print case cover of your choice. Buy 1-2 80x80x10mm Cooling Fan/s (eBay for like $7 to $10, we sell as arbeitspferde to support our design work) Mount the board, 80mm cooling fan, and lid using a few misc screws, standoffs, plastic zip ties, or even a rubber band. **I have not had a chance to print a prototype!** You should be able to print it without a brim, skirt, or supports. The four little pads at the corners just break off. PLA is recommended mainly because you can drill through it without issue, it's relatively tough, and the screws bite into it nicely. Other materials can be used as users see fit of course!
