Summary This is a rack holder for 3000 Farad Capacitors (Ultracapacitors). This component is part of efforts to encourage the use of open source methods in solar photovoltaic technology by the [Michigan Tech's Open Sustainability Technology Research Group]( http://www.mse.mtu.edu/MOST). For similar see the Open-Source Lab How to Build Your Own Hardware and Reduce Research Costs Instructions These racking units are specifically sized for the Maxwell BCAP3000 E270 T04 ultracapacitors.Specifications Print the stl on your favorite open-source 3-D printer as is with 25% fill or higher. Each racking member holds 4 ultra-caps at once. See from the images how we stagger them in-between rows in our 12 ultracap array. Print as many as are needed for the size of your array. Obviously if you are using these capacitors take the appropriate safety precautions - they are definitively not toys. We are currently testing the use of ultracaps in all different kinds of solar photovoltaic systems - primarily for off-grid and microgrid systems - and will update Thingiverse with applications as they are confirmed. Thanks to Ben Mitchell for initial design. This is part of a larger project to reduce the cost of solar photovoltaic technology and applications using open source methodologies.
