Ultrasound Probe Stabilizer

Ultrasound Probe Stabilizer

This is an ultrasound probe stabilizer for use with a wall-mounted transducer storage rack, such as this one:http://www.civco.com/mmi/ultrasound/accessories/soaking-storage/PID5311.htm . The plastic probe stabilizer that goes with this setup is sold separately and is ridiculously expensive. So I designed this for our department. Please note that the designs that I am sharing DO NOT have the name of our institution embossed on them, as is shown in the photos. The piece is designed in two parts which are meant to be glued together. The base uses a 1/2 inch 8-32 bolt and nut to attach it to the transducer rack. I have designed two versions of the top part, one with plain walls, and one with an embedded Voronoi pattern, which saves a little on plastic. This item was created in TinkerCAD. Instructions The print is composed of two parts: a bottom (base) part, and a top (cup) part. Directions: Print the bottom and one of the included top parts. Please note that the base part is printed upside-down in order to avoid overhangs and improve adhesion to the build plate. Glue the the flat parts of the bottom and top together. I use two-part epoxy. The top part should be aligned to the front edge of the base (the bolt hole is at the back of the base part). If there is curling or warping at the bases of the the two parts, you can flip the top part upside-down before gluing to aid in adhesion. Attach the base to the transducer storage rack with a half inch 8-32 bolt and nut (I like to use a wing nut).
