The purpose of the design of an object such as the paper towel holder is the simplicity and lightness. The lightness , however, is the antithesis of stability, unless the holder becomes heavy when you need it . I then thought a printed holder such as PET drinks bottles complete with the same screw cap. It is then possible to fill the bottle with water, plug it , insert the roll and secure with a lid that is snapped into the base and driven by the cap. The base becomes heavy up to 1.6 kg and with a very low center thus ensuring the stability when using one hand will tear the paper flap . This ease of use with one hand is very important because in a kitchen you make a thousand things simultaneously . The replacement of the roll is easy because you just rip the cover from the base through the niches printed on it. The materials are easily recyclable and really inexpensive, can be produced with a well-known technology and suitable for mass production . Soon will upload the version for wall mounting.
