Here´s a simple to print motor mount for the UMX Whipit DLG. As is well recorded, the original Whipit receiver has a brushed motor ESC integrated onboard. This can be used to convert the Whipit into a powered glider. Just remove the fwd 2 wing screws and reattach with the mount in between - you may wnat to use longer screws, but with some patience, it works with the original ones, too. If you add a connector to the motor cable, the Whipit can be reconfigured between glider and powered glider in just a minute. This motor mount is intended for a 8.5x20mm (8520) brushed motor and 2,5" prop in direct drive - not the most efficient combination, but gets me around 12 minutes of relaxing level flight time on a 1s 200mA battery. Should print easily flat on the rear surface without supports or rafts. Note that the onboard ESC does NOT support motor brake - so climbing up and then gliding down is not the way to fly with this, as the plane comes down quickly with the motor unpowered and windmilling.Instead, fly as motor aircraft with 50% throttle. Share and enjoy P.S. i was aware of this thing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2399557 and thanks for the inspiration. For lower noise and more balanced flight in 50% throttle mode, i had to design my own which is is pull configuration rather than pusher.
