Under Desk Headphone / Audio Jack Extender and Anker USB 3.0 Hub mount

This is a remix of my Audio Jack Extender (https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/79597-headphone-audio-jack-extender-under-desk-or-wall-m), but I added a USB 3.0 Hub to it. The whole thing mounts under the controller for my uplift desk with an Ikea Gerton solid wood top, but it should also be mountable without the controller too.

It uses a pair of cable strain relief boots which I printed in TPU, and I recommend using TPU for the boots. However, I did add an untested solid cable boot which can be printed in PLA or PETG (Audio_extension-1H-CABLE-SR-PLA-A.stl and Audio_extension-1H-CABLE-SR-PLA-B.stl). If you print the solid cable boot please provide some feedback.

This is designed to use the following parts:

MillSO 3.5mm Headphone Extension Cable
https://www.amazon.com/MillSO-Headphone-Extension-Auxiliary-Headphones/dp/B07W7JQ673/

And the USB hub is an Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Ultra Slim Hub
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Extended-MacBook-Surface-Notebook/dp/B07L32B9C2/

It was mounted with some #6 screws but I think #8 would work too.

There is also a pair of small cable management clips (for one or two cables), which can be mounted with some small screws or double sided tape.

To print the cable boot, I used PRILINE TPU which is a less flexible TPU (but works well for this).

https://www.amazon.com/PRILINE-TPU-1KG-Filament-Dimensional-Accuracy/dp/B074DV9JMX/

Part is not oriented for printing. If you print one, please post a make.

The STEP file is included for easy remixing.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 3 Pro

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

20

Filament: ESUN Opaque Black PETG PETG Black
Notes:

Also used Priline TPU for the cable boots. Priline is much less flexible than most TPU but it is still useful for things which need some strength like cable boots. Make sure to dry it if it is exposed to normal air for more than a few hours (I used 54°C for 4 or more hours to dry it between runs and it helps a lot).

Category: Office
