Symbol for those with the position of Aviation Ordnance in the United States Navy. Inspired by my father, who served in the Navy for 20 years with this position. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 6 Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 20%-50% Notes: This was designed to not need any support structure aside from rafts. The rafts are recommended because the thinness of the wings near the tips makes it challenging to separate the print from the build plate without causing any damage. Though unnecessary, higher infill is recommended to reinforce the wings. High resolution is preferred for the best visual results. Though initially designed for the LulzBot TAZ 6, this design could easily be ported to other printer models. Post-Printing Removing the Rafts If rafts are used to support the printing process (strongly recommended), be careful when separating them from the print. The wings taper down to about 1.5mm in thickness, and care must be taken to avoid damaging them. Timelapse GIF of the printing process. Print time was approximately 3 hours using high-detail settings. How I Designed This This was designed largely by looking at an image online, approximating the distances between features, and coming up with dimensions based on relativity.
